What vehicles need an e-safety check in NSW?
Any light vehicle more than five years old requires an e-safety check before registration can be renewed.
Can I still drive if my vehicle fails the inspection?
Yes, but only within the terms allowed by RMS. You'll need to fix the issue and return for a reinspection before registration can be completed.
How long is a pink slip valid for?
An e-safety check is valid for 42 days from the date of issue. After that, a new inspection is required.
